As an
artist Michael turned to the theatre as an outlet for his creative talent.
He worked for a theatre in the Midlands as a scenery artist before
travelling north to continue in a major venue there.
His moody
land and sea/water-scapes are sometimes referenced from Scottish
locations, in particular Loch Fleet which is close to a relatives home
The rugged
images are further enhanced by basic hand made stretchers and heavy canvas
laden with layer upon layer of oil and varnish, deliberately spilling over
the edges.
The few
works he produces each year are eagerly snapped up by collectors, those
below are currently available and new work is due later in 2008
